 MY BIO

Zak Lara is from Victorville California and is a graduate of Victor Valley High School. During his time in high school, he was an athlete, volunteer, tutor, and actively participated in the California Cadet Corps (CACC).

He is both a Marine Corps & Army Veteran who now teaches to at-risk youth in Los Angeles.

In 2022 he graduated from Mount Saint Marys University with an AA in Business and BA in Film with a Cinematography focus. In his career, he has worked with multiple schools, veterans programs, non-profits, businesses, influencers, and clients who prefer privacy regarding their projects.

What makes Zak's visuals unique is the amount of studying that he has done on filmmakers greater than him. Filmmakers who have a filmography list that goes back decades. By studying the greats and appreciating all they have built he is able to put together visuals that resonate with audiences while providing unique and modern twists they are looking for.

Some of his biggest influences are people like Ken Burns, Tim Hetherington, and Estevan Oriol.

While Zak is well-versed in many aspects of filmmaking his strongest areas of focus are in documentary, product interviews, fashion, and hype reels. He loves the process of creating and excitingly tells clients after they speak "let's create something great together!"

In his personal time he often takes long walks with his camera and captures the world around him one frame at a time.

When asked what Zak plans to do for the rest of his life, his answer is simple

"Inspire those around me and leave a legacy."
